An authentic reproduction of the Michelin “Plaque de murale” from June 20th, 1966, featuring accurate cement edges and the original font. Napoleon Bonaparte commissioned the construction of Route Impériale 14 in 1811, which later became N13 in 1824. Due to the construction of parallel highways A13 and A14, the importance of N13 diminished, resulting in parts of the road being transferred to the departments. The plaque remains on D613 in Bretteville-l’Orgueilleuse (Calvados) and guides the way to Rots. The sign includes a Vinsign certificate, a unique production number, and a luxury postcard depicting and describing the original.
This sign is a flawless replica of the Michelin “Plaque de murale” from June 20th, 1966. Its authentic appearance is achieved through the use of cement for the edges and the precise replication of the original font.
In 1811, Napoleon Bonaparte issued an order for the construction of Route Impériale 14, which connected Paris to Cherbourg. This road was later renamed to N13 in 1824.
However, with the development of parallel highways A13 and A14, the importance of N13 diminished in many areas. As a result, certain sections of the road were transferred to local departments.
The “plaque” in question is still present on D613 in Bretteville-l’Orgueilleuse (Calvados) and provides directions to Rots.
On June 11th, 1944, the small village of Rots was captured after fierce fighting between the 25th SS-Panzergrenadier Regiment and the Canadian Royal Marine Commando No. 46. This replica comes with a Vinsign certificate, a unique production number, and a luxury postcard featuring a picture and description of the original.
