The Michelin Plaque was originally placed at Omaha Beach’s promenade in the 1950s, between Vierville-sur-Mer and St. Laurent-sur-Mer. A 1969 Pathé movie features the original plaque, which later disappeared for unknown reasons that same year. Our replica includes all Michelin characteristics of the original, with every letter removed and repositioned for balance. The sign also comes with a Vinsign certificate, production number, and postcard of the original.
In the 1950s, the original Michelin Plaque was placed on the promenade of Omaha Beach, situated between Vierville-sur-Mer and St. Laurent-sur-Mer. This plaque can be seen in a Pathé movie that was shot in 1969. However, inexplicably, the plaque disappeared in the same year.
We have created a detailed reproduction of the original plaque, using the 1969 Pathé movie as a reference. Every letter of the original plaque was removed and repositioned to create an equal distribution on both plates. This reproduction is an exact match to the original plaque, including the concrete edge and all other typical Michelin characteristics.
In addition to its accuracy, this sign comes with a Vinsign certificate, a unique production number, and a luxury postcard with a picture and description of the original plaque.
