CAFÉ J. PHILIPPE EPICERIE

June 7, 1944 marked a significant moment in history, as the Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, during World War II. Among the troops who landed on Utah Beach were paratroopers from the 101st Airborne Division. After their arduous journey, some of these soldiers found respite at the Café J. Philippe on the D15 in Baudienville, located about 1.5 kilometers northeast of St. Mére Eglise.
