This sign is a replica of the original warning sign placed at the time near Vyasma (Battle of Vyasma), 145 km west of Moscow.
The sign is made with craftsmanship and attention to detail. It is made of 28 mm thick, dried pine and reinforced with braces on the back. Each sign is completely hand-painted in authentic colors and features a classic, historic font that stays true to the original.
Each sign comes with a Vinsign certificate guaranteeing authenticity and quality. In addition, each copy has a unique production number, adding to its exclusivity and collector’s value.
During World War II, columns of the German Wehrmacht, often with vehicles, moved eastward. These columns were regularly attacked at night by British and Russian fighter planes. To avoid detection, the vehicles’ spotlights were blinded. This was often done by covering the lights with dark paint, leaving only a narrow strip of light visible.
To reduce the risk, warning signs were posted reminding long columns to dim their lights. These signs all but disappeared after the war, making it a unique challenge for Vinsign to create an exact reproduction of a rare historical photograph.
With this replica, Vinsign brings a piece of lost history back to life.
