In the vicinity of Carentan and a road to St. Lo, there once stood a simple sign. It was at this location that, shortly after June 6th, the 17th SS Panzer Division was defeated by the GI’s. An almost identical reproduction of the sign is being made using authentic materials, paint, and complete with braces and authentic brass screws on the back. It has been hand-painted, features the original German font, and has been given a finish to complete the authentic look.
Somewhere between Carentan and a road to St. Lo, there stood a simple signpost. This was the place where, shortly after June 6th, the 17th SS Panzer Division was defeated by the GI’s.
A nearly indistinguishable reproduction of this signpost is being created using authentic materials and paint, and is equipped with authentic brass screws and supports on the back. The sign is hand-painted, features the original (German) lettering, and has a durable finish.
This signpost represents a small but significant piece of history, commemorating the bravery and sacrifice of soldiers on both sides of the conflict. Its authenticity and attention to detail make it a valuable addition to any collection or historical display.
