The Hurtgen Hotel
This exact reproduction is not just a sign…
it’s a sign of honor.
It’s to honor the 120,000 GI’s and 80,000 German soldiers who fought a terrible battle in the Hürtgenwald from September 1944 til February 1945.
24,000 GI’s were KIA or MIA and another 9,000 were wounded. The Germans had 28,000 men put out of action of which 12,000 were killed.
This can be described as the ‘hurt’ of Hürtgenwald.
This sign was hung on a deserted farm in Hürtgen, the HQ of the 121st Regiment.
They called it The Hürtgen Hotel.
This sign comes with a Vinsign certificate, a unique production number and a luxury postcard with picture and description of the original.
