About This Project

Here you can see the Poteau Michelin version of our “mysterious” Colleville sur Mer reproduction, of which no information is available in the Michelin archive and in Colleville itself. After talks with some Colleville residents, it can be assumed that this Poteau Michelin was damaged or removed during the busy transports to and from Omaha beach in 1944. The photo of the original was taken on D-Day on the main road GC32 (the current D 514). The Jeep sees how US MP’s German prisoners transport under surveillance to Omaha Beach to be transported to England.

The performance, color and the distinctive Michelin profile of this imposing panneau are reproduced exactly. Also the characteristic font has been accurately captured.

The Poteau is available with or without typical “Michelin” tear.

This panneau comes with a Vinsign certificate, a unique production number and a luxury postcard with photo and description of the original.
