PORT EN BESSIN MICHELIN

Price on request

On May 24th, 1938, this Michelin sign was placed on Rue de Dr. Michel in Bayeux, and still stands there today. It points to the old Gc 6 (chemin de grande communication) leading to Port en Bessin, where Allied fuels were pumped ashore via the so-called P.L.U.T.O. pipelines from freighters in 1944/45. The photo shows General Bernard Montgomery inspecting it shortly after D-Day. An authentic reproduction is available with or without a “concrete” border. This sign comes with a Vinsign certificate, a unique production number, and a luxury postcard with a photo and description of the original.
