About This Project
On May 24 in 1938, this ‘Poteau Michelin’ got placed on the ‘Rue de Michel’ in Bayeux and is still located there. It points at the old Gc 6 (chemin de grande communication) to Port en Bessin. That’s where in 1944/45 the allied fuels got pumped ashore through the so-called ‘P.L.U.T.O’ pipelines of the cargo-ships.
